Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport References Committee Hearing Commences
The rural and regional affairs and transport references committee has commenced its hearing into the Australian Wine Grape Purchases Code of Conduct. The chair, senator Matthew Canavan, has declared the hearing open and introduced the committee members present. Senator Canavan has also reminded witnesses of their rights and protections under parliamentary privilege, including the right to be heard in camera and the prohibition on giving false or misleading evidence. The committee has also been informed that the proceedings are being broadcast and a Hansard record will be prepared.
